Muppets on the Internet: Good
Internet on the Muppets: I'm too shocked to know if that's good or bad.

If I could buy Statler and Waldorf a Mefi account, I would.

Are there any MeFi accounts not either Statler-powered or Waldorf-owned?

I don't usually comment in my own posts (well, sometimes, but....not usually)..

However.. I just stopped by to say I love the muppets! My first son was born 3 months after Sesame Street aired in 1969. I spent YEARS and YEARS watching it with my two kids. Lots of good memories, we laughed, cried, sang, danced.. good stuff, good for all of us.

This country has done a lot of things wrong, but Sesame Street may be one of the jewels in our crown.

This is their latest: Stand by Me

Caution: Probably not a good idea to show this to small, impressionable children. Like I did. *hangs head* My daughter looked at me and said, "OH NO! POOR BUNNIES!!!!!"

zarg.. I saw the "Stand by Me" one first... I was going to post that... but when they didn't segway into "little bunny foo foo", I was so disappointed, I went with Beaker!

It's wrong how much that made me laugh. I don't care. I LOVE THE MUPPETS.

I wanted to marry Kermit when I was about five years old. As in I seriously thought that there was a possibility I could legally marry the frog. MAN, I HATED THAT PIG.

This was hilarious - seriously full on best of the web - until the very end. For some reason the new guys voicing Stadler and Waldorf don't sound right. Harshes my muppet buzz.

You can't ever go wrong with Beaker. :D :D

My kids have started watching Sesame Street and I'm slowly introducing them to clips of the Muppet Show. They're not really comprehending most of it yet, I think. But it's been fun watching their reactions to clips I remember from my childhood for the first time.

Until, of course... the bunnies and squirrels get eaten.

Obligatory: Beaker sings 'Habanera' from Carmen and Ode to Joy. Bonus: Testing out Dr. Honeydew's pumpkin carving Carve-a-Matic. (My sister and I have been declaring 'tah-dah' aka mee-eee! for months now.

Incredible. No harm in a little Muppet evolution, but Waldorf and Statler have new voices? I didn't realize. I hope I don't notice now. They've always been my favourites, followed closely by Beaker and Chef. Really, I should have been in bed an hour ago.

So should I. Then I wouldn't have had to watch this! MWA! HA! HA!

Jim Henson (who did Waldorf) died twenty years ago. Richard Hunt, who did Statler, died two years after that.

I just feel obligated to post in this thread. So here's something that's only kind of related.

Yeah, for the most part I love the new Muppets stuff; it's as good as anything they've done. But the Statler and Waldorf voices are just wrong. They really bug me.
