Actually, I already know who I'm voting for in 2016. Viva Grizzly Adams and The Arm! May they live forever and rule us always. Never before have two more worthy candidates inspired so much respect and terror, simultaneously.

Not wanting to troll here, but...the Republican websites really, really suck...
Most of these sites are jokes...and if they aren't...well, maybe we do get the leadership we deserve.

You're trolling. With the possible exception of Christian Shelton in 2024, they're all pretty horrible. And his isn't terrific, either.

You're right. On further inspection, they all REALLY, REALLY suck. And what's with all the kids who just graduated from high school announcing their intentions to run?

Actually, I'm assuming (based on nothing whatsoever) that most of these aren't jokes, and that these are some really, really ambitious people. I mean, look at incredibly ambitious politicians like Clinton, Gore or Nixon -- they have spent or did spend most of their adult lives wanting to be president.

I agree. In the somewhat unlikely event that one of these folks actually ends up running for president, I'm sure the existence of these web sites will be used as part of a "deidicated to public service his whole life" campaign.

I'll confess to thinking of putting up my Willis2012 site. Really.

I'd vote for you, owillis, so long as you provide me with a job. Actually, can we set up a 'MetaFilter For President' Website? I think the country could benefit from a collective MeFi president as opposed to a single 'leader.' We could all hang out in the oval office sharing pictures of kittens. Our computer network wouldn't be compromised because we'd have people like Den Beste and others on top of it. We'd have stimulating conversations about every little thing that J.Ko says or does -- just like here at MeFi! And our internal counsel, MetaTalk, would meet every other day to discuss how best to approach making our little commune happier! Haughey, of course, would get a wing for himself to retreat from the madness he created.
Hell, I mean, it wouldn't be crazier than this girl's mission:
"Underage Drinking & Smoking: My goal is to have a strongly encrypted computer system that contains a database of children under 18, and well as a proof of age with two forms of identification. This would enable store owners and workers to be able to screen the people that the cigarettes and alcohol are buying them."
