I have no clue what Psychonauts is (video game, movie, both?), but I thought this still worked because everything synced up so well. If I saw this trailer without knowing it's a mash-up it wouldn't seem out of place. I wouldn't want to go see it, but I think that about most trailers I see.

I love Psychonauts, I re-downloaded my steam copy just the other day. For anyone who's interested you can still get it on Steam, and you can run it in full HD.
Also, the dog with no nose smells terrible.

Oh man, I loved Psychonauts. One of the funniest games I've ever played.
For the uninitiated, Psychonauts is a platformer where you play as Raz, a son of circus performers who has psychic abilities. He runs away from the circus to join a children's training camp for a secret group of psychic government agents called the Psychonauts. While there, he learns how to channel his psychic abilities to enter the minds of other people; exploring other people's minds constitute the game's levels (hence the Inception connection). With great, colorful graphics, a hilarious script, excellent voice acting and inventive level design I can't recommend this game enough.
The game was designed by Tim Schafer, best known from his LucasArts days as the designer of Grim Fandango and Full Throttle. His most recent release was Brütal Legend, starring Jack Black.

You've been here 6 years, fairmettle, without a single FPP. Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Not as good as Scott Pilgrim vs the Matrix.
I laughed at the part where Keanu says his band is terrible.

If Tim Schafer isn't making a Full Throttle 2 right now, he's wasting his time. I'm sure the gone jackals need more work too!

this just goes to show that audio = 80% of what makes short form work like trailers powerful. i'd see the shit out of this movie.
