Tagxedo: tag cloud with styles. Similar concept to Wordle, but with much greater customisation and word control.
"Tagxedo turns words -- famous speeches, news articles, slogans and themes, even your love letters -- into a visually stunning tag cloud, words individually sized appropriately to highlight the frequencies of occurrence within the body of text."
I made one using the script for The Big Lebowski and it turned out fairly well.

Looks promising but appears to need silverlight. I'm not sure of SL will run on ubuntu...

Doesn Mono's Moonlight run on Ubuntu? Will that work?

That does look impressive. But does anyone ever actually use a tag cloud? I know I've never clicked on one...

I don't click on the either, but it did make an awesome desktop wallpaper.

I'm not so sure the site can be trusted. I looked through that Lebowski cloud carefully, and while I spotted the word 'stranger' easily enough, I don't see 'happens', 'when' 'you' 'jesus' or 'ass' anywhere.

I've been having fun playing around with Tagxedo — the design I'm working on is almost to the point where I think I'm going to print it on iron-on paper and put it on a t-shirt. Thanks for posting about it!
