Arrggg!!! LA NBC is showing baseball!

Arrggg!!! LA NBC is showing baseball! I should have figured that people in Southern California would be more interested in watching sports than the debates.

Amazon.com keeps adding to the black hole.

Amazon.com keeps adding to the black hole. Looks like Amazon.com has taken a page from the Government's "running the country" book - they keep throwing money at a black hole instead of restructuring what they already have.

Weak leg?

Weak leg? A female kicker is suing Duke University because she was cut from the team. She says it was because she's a woman, the coach says she wasn't as versatile as other kickers on his roster. With colleges passing illiterates through based on football skill, I'm skeptical that a coach would make a roster decision based on sex.

Did Anybody catch Nader and Buchanan on Larry King last night?

Did Anybody catch Nader and Buchanan on Larry King last night? I did, and I actually found myself *agreeing* with Buchanan -- on so many issues that I surprised and shocked myself!

Rocket firing gunships vs. rock throwers?

Rocket firing gunships vs. rock throwers? Am I the only one who finds this stuff a bit disturbing? If it was any country other than Israel, wouldn't there be a completely different slant to the news stories?

NYTimes.com asks for feedback on its new home page

NYTimes.com asks for feedback on its new home page
The New York Times on the Web previewed a new design for its popular home page today. The page widens the content areas to over 750 pixels, up from around 500. The page now presents special feature teasers, and links to NYT's hideously unpopular Internet "knowledge network" venture, Abuzz.com, along the enlarged right-hand margin. No word was given as to whether the site would abandon its free registration requirement. "Surfers" may register their opinions about the new design at newhomepage@nytimes.com

Superfluous and unnecessary.

Superfluous and unnecessary. The :Cue Cat reader has insinuated itself into the very fabric of the Dallas Morning News, promising links to "expanded content" and "special promotions" by using this $50 future garage sale item. Is there a real need for bar code scanners in the average household? Or is :Cue Cat merely artificially creating a need for their services?

Almost two decades ago (19801208), Mark David Chapman fired the fatal gun shot which killed John Lennon. Today, Chapman will meet with the New York State Board of Parole to convince them of his reform. (You can be my) Yoko Ono has written the Board, requesting the denial of Chapman's parole out of safety for herself, Sean and Julian.

Should Chapman be paroled?

"Microsoft Bails Out Rival Corel"

"Microsoft Bails Out Rival Corel"...but the "L-word" is never mentioned. Still, looks like MS-branded Linux and/or a port of Office to Linux just became a lot more possible.
