Darwin gets another one.

The "War on Drugs" cost Gore the election.

The "War on Drugs" cost Gore the election. "In a stroke of divine justice, it turns out he [Gore] might have easily won Florida had it not been for the felony disenfranchisement laws that disproportionately strip the vote from African-American men," said Sanho Tree, director of the drug policy project of the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington. "Let's hope he ponders this long and hard while he waits for the recount."

It's not political.

It's not political. But it's rather useful. Free (accurate!) tuning software for the guitarists out there.

I enjoy seeing a real world issue collide with a piece of webjunk.

I enjoy seeing a real world issue collide with a piece of webjunk. Especially if it has some fairly amusing pictures. For me, the real challenge was to identify the candidates without looking at the URLs under each picture. Plus, this "vote" may put Nader over the top for good!

This map, sized based on electoral proportions

This map, sized based on electoral proportions makes a lot more sense than the standard state-by-state or county-by-county one (that last one was marked up by peterme).

A Chronovore

A Chronovore is what this site is. Don't freak out as it takes over your browser for a second, but if you're easily spooked, a little square in the upper right will resize the image. I only say that because I'm a jumpy little man myself.

Aimee's Ultimate Collection of crap.

Aimee's Ultimate Collection of crap. The music industry proves--yet again--that art should not be placed in the hands of a corporation.

One, two, six, twelve, four, three, eighteen, forty-six...

One, two, six, twelve, four, three, eighteen, forty-six... 3 American study abroad students can't count the number of chairs in an auditorium. I've always heard that statistic that a fair number of high school students can't locate their state on a map, but this is ridiculous.

No more "spoiler" factor.

No more "spoiler" factor. If you like what you read, they have an eGroup you can join to keep updated on the IRV movement. For example, IRV will be on the 2002 ballot in Alaska. But what happened to the San Francisco initiative? I don't see it on the list of propositions.

The Bush campaign is seeking contributions to fund the Florida recount

The Bush campaign is seeking contributions to fund the Florida recount and here I am thinking that they were fighting the recount. I'm sorry to add a link to the political chaos but the Bush campaign just baffles me to no end. Could some objective non-partisan please stand up for the people's constitutional right to franchisement?

Not very clever.

Not very clever. Florida's Secretary of State (the BBC reports her being described as "a bit of an airhead") manages to make her position look even more ridiculous. Anyone get the disturbing feeling that this may be resolved, not in the courts, but on the streets?
