I wish that other sites I visit had controls against duplicate posts like MeFi does... I swear, one board has had that Nostradamus crap posted at least a dozen times. And I've gotten a good 15 emails about it too.
Also that whole 11 -tues, 93= 9+3 = 12 (weds), 1+7+5 =13 (thurs) numbers game - I've seen that a few dozen times as well. What a bunch of crap. They didn't choose planes based on flight numbers that could be added and subtracted and divded to make symbolic dates... People can make those numbers do whatever they want.

Trust me, I know. I saw the number of Nostradamus posts that had popped up the day of the attacks, I read the complaint, and I moderate an Issues forum which saw Nostratopics sprouting up like mushrooms.
It's my sincere hope that this is the last NY-related Nostradamus post anyone sees on the main page.
(Oof. I just re-read the old Nostra-thread and saw someone debunk this already, with the same link. Sorry.)

Yes. And apparently some people follow some writings collected in a book called the "bible," and are counting down the days to "Armageddon" or "Apocalypse" even as we speak.

Nostradamus in fact foretold that you would rise up in anger and exasperation against his hauntingly prophetic quatrains so in the immortal and prophetic words of Bill Murray, patron saint of all frat houses...

And I'm proud to be one of them. Counting, counting! I'll be disappearing any day now... ^^
But no, seriously, not all Christians are pretribulational Rapture fanatics. I look at these Nostradamic misinterpretations, and I look at the sensationalizations of the dispensational "Left Behind" crowd, and I begin to wonder whether both schools of thought are reading more than they should from their respective scriptures and into the tragic events of Tuesday. It makes one shake his head in dismayed confusion.

Why can't people just accept the fact that some assholes took control of some planes and crashed them into buildings, causing unspeaking violence and horror?
No magic, no mythical bullshit. Just assholes out for vengeance. It's that simple. Geez, must humans mystify EVERYTHING?

And it wasn't Bill Murray that said, "Lighten up, Francis." It was Sgt. Hulka. But that's probably a moot point to argue.
