Hmmm....maybe while they're not looking, we can do some really bad things.
Corporate lobbyists love distractions, especially a major crisis at the end of a legislative session. California is no exception. How has your state legislature been screwing you while this crisis has been going on?
Luckily, my state legislature only meets about 60 days per year, around January-February. We're safe.

On the bailout, I'm not terribly surprised, since this travesty has been in the works for a while now.
The anti-privacy thing seems like typical back-room deal-making. Maybe a little more brazen since we're not really paying attention.
I tried to find out how our representatives voted on these, but the CA Legislature site seems to be designed for obfuscation.

add the bastard politicians to the list. the american people should nuke 'em as soon as we finish with the WTC/Pentagon perps and the profiteering gasoline pimps.
