Scientists in the USA have discovered [NYTimes] a new cell in the eye responsible for resetting the biological clock. Its being called "heretical".. Not every day, Dr. Provencio said, do scientists find a new body function.

So, um, which eye should I poke to reset? And how hard?
Ow. OW!

(Kidding aside, I had to do a double-take on the words "biological clock." I was under the impression that this had something to do with aging and reproduction rather than our regular day-to-day biorhythms. :) It's cool science regardless, and good news for frequent fliers and insomiacs.)

Way cool...some of my best are optometrists, and I can't wait to show them this article and watch their reaction. Fascinating stuff.
