"Roughly 85% of the genome has been sequenced by the International Human Genome Project." I thought they were done? If 740MB = 85%, then 870MB = 100%. Sheesh.
If that much data can be stored in a microscopic cell, that's just further proof that our own bodies are a technology on a much much higher order than anything we've figured out how to make.

Yeah... I saw that... and what really scares me, is that that is 740m ZIPPED... and I'm imagining it's all text...

Frequency and amplitude can be measured with mathematical accuracy, but while a MIDI of the "Confutatis" from Mozart's Requiem inspires thrilling memories, it doesn't quite thrill me as much as a live performance.
I'm keeping faith in the high percentage of DNA that they can't decode. Somehow, I think to regard it as "junk" (as the terminology renders it) suggests a scientific short-sightedness.
