Ardent Twin Peaks fanatics are rallying behind Operation: Creamed Corn, in efforts to convince New Line to release the deleted scenes hand-picked by David Lynch from Fire Walk with Me. Will it work? I sure hope so.

The hand-picked bits would be an awesome bonus, but I'm just dying for -any- DVD version to come out. I grow weary of flipping my laserdisc time and again...

I want to see a release of the episodes on DVD...a limited run would keep the prices down for WorldVision/New Line, wouldn't it?

i too, would love a release of the eps on DVD. my girlfriend has the entire TP boxed set..but the problem is, it's all SLP or something, and so the soundtrack is warbly, and the video doesn't look great..it would look and sound awesome on DVD.

I was fortunate enough to snag the pilot, all the episodes, and FWWM on laserdisc when they came out, but would love to get them on DVD. The episode box set is supposed to be released by the end of the year. It will not include the pilot, so it is a good idea to go ahead and pick up a copy of the pilot on Hong Kong DVD via eBay. The quality is outstanding.

Skallas, which extended version are you talking about? There are three current versions and the two extended ones are worse than the original one, and have an Alan Smithee directing credit on them. I've also read somewhere that Lynch says Dune is a finished film and he intended it to be as short/long as it was.

The first seven episodes will be available on DVD (most likely in December). They will decide to release the remaining episodes based on sales of the first seven.

Agreed, daveleck. Also, picking up the Hong Kong DVD may be the only way to own the pilot in that format with the original aired ending (not the European version, which tacks on a convuluted ending).

The set includes the entire first season aside from the pilot (which remains caught in a rights quagmire), a full frame presentation, new Dolby Digital and DTS tracks (a first for a television release in Region 1), audio commentary by David Lynch, multiple making-of features, promo spots and more to be announced."

Here is a description of the ending of the European pilot. Basically, they had to wrap it all up to make it a stand-alone piece. It leaves dozens of loose ends, obviously. Then again, as davehat points out, so did the full series. There are tons of bizarre Twin Peaks fan sites out there, but this one managed to creep me out for for some reason.

Crap! Some of the links seem to be dead, so the maze is screwed up. Sorry. If you're a Lynch fan with time to kill, check out the user reviews for Lost Highway at the IMDb. There are 180, and at times it reads like Lynchfilter. People either love or hate it, and the reviews often seem to say more about the author than the film. It's incredible how much some people read into his work.
