Airigami, the art of folding air in specially prepared latex containers includes the flying octopus, giant soccer players, and many others. [via growabrain]
So, this Airigami, it's a fancy name for the balloon animals, yes?

The 'specically prepared' part seems to suggest that these are simply oddly-shaped balloons.

Speaking as a (very amateur) balloon sculptor, I have a lot of respect for this guy's craftsmanship and artistry. He really is brilliant. Check out the haunted house balloons-- am I detecting shades of Gahan Wilson in the design here? But "airigami"? Give me a break. You're not supposed to blow up all those balloons by mouth, and I fear for Mr. Moss's brain oxygen.

It doesn't need a fancy name (well, misnomer, anyway) but it is pretty cool. Question, though: are balloons recyclable? If not, what happens to them once the sculptures are deflated?

Won't someone think of the sea creatures!
Balloons are hazards when they enter the aquatic environment because they can look a great deal like jellyfish—a major source of food for many animals. Sea turtles, dolphins, whales, fish, and seabirds have been reported with balloons in their stomachs.posted by squink at 10:50 AM on April 12, 2006
Wow, beautiful.
