That second picture... Holy moly! I hope Petros Giannokouris dined well on that one. Same goes for Sheng Li and picture 11.

Also, why hadn't I heard about the snowfall in Bogotá? Searching for bogota+snow returns nothing relevant on news.google but Now Public was on it.

You really don't need to know French to get the gist of how unutterable depressing this all is.

I realize that climate change can make can make some weather phenomenon more likely, but there would still be weather disasters like this every year even without it.

Most of the pictures are self explanatory or have easy to understand captions. Some more details :
6 : after the floodings of july in India, 30 million people have left their homes. On the picture, one can see people trying to collect bags of food.
7 is about the hurricane that struck nicaragua a few weeks ago. The caption states that according to the red cross, the number of natural disasters has increased by 20% last year.
8 has just been discussed in the thread.
9 is about drought in Australia (I forgot to mention it..) which is a threat for Australia's production in the years to come and explains also the increasing prices of wheat.
10 is about the disastrous fires on the west coast of the USA, previously discussed in a number of threads on metafilter.
11 shows the response to dust carrying winds in China, caused by drought and agricultural mismanaging.
12 shows Jakarta in the mud, after a flooding in february.
