Request anything and this guy will draw it.

This guy, does he pay postage? This isn't some goofy scam to get people on a mailing list, is it? A front for shady groups who want to attach an IP to a name and address? What gives? This raises far too many questions, I'm going to bed.

But before I do.... Your posting history is a bit on the spammy side, are you a viral-marketing-bot?

Here's Mike. Perhaps it's an art project. And in case you're wondering, not the same as Mike Godwin, the promulgator of Godwin's law.

Because I hear that guy draws like a Nazi.

The sketch-it guy's pretty good. He has examples, and pretty good ones too.

Some more information would be nice here. I'm not sure what the etiquette for such a request would be because I don't know what's going on. Is this some sort of personal project he set himself just to see how long he could keep up with requests? Judging by the size of the address box, I presume he wants a postal address and not an e-mail address, and that's a lot of postage. Unless he just wants to get a bunch of requests and only fill a subset of them (which is what most people who do free sketch requests online do). By the title of the Metafilter post, I'm inclined to think that the requests are some sort of challenge to Mike, either as they are hard to visualize (an abstract concept, say), complex or tedious to draw (such as "draw the Mandelbrot set"), or emotionally difficult to work with (something violent, sexual, or morally repugnant to the artist). However, that connotation does not seem to be present in the text of the site itself.

It's possible that he merely wants to see what kinds of requests he'll get if he _doesn't_ put up any guidelines. It'd be interesting to see the results, in that case.

I ordered:

"That one scene in the Wild Bunch where Borgnine, Bill Holden, etc are all walking down the street to the shootout, only they all have ice cream cones."

I AM EXCITED.

I hope this guy likes to draw pornographic images, as I expect he's going to get a lot of requests for them....

What's to stop you from requesting something and putting in someone else's address?

Say, fella, I'd like a drawing of a severed head with a note, "I'm watching you." Send it to this address. Thanks!

Or, maybe, could you just do a drawing of a fat cock and a little valentine's heart and send it to this other address?

BETTER! Do a picture of the president blowing a terrorist. Not up, mind you, just blowing, and send it to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. That'd be swell.

Two gentlemen on a tandem bicycle

You'll be recieving your
free drawing very soon.

Sweet! Maybe we can all chip in and buy him a dictionary in return?

I've asked him to draw himself, drawing the picture of himself, drawing the picture of himself etc. It's just a shame I don't know his address so he could send it to himself too...

But yeah, what's the deal with postage?
