I am not familiar with Tim and Eric, but this has a seriously Kentucky Fried Movie sort of vibe to it. And KFM is a bona fide classic, so I will probably watch this at some point with a large quantity of beer close at hand.

I kinda gave up on Tim and Eric when it got into the whole over-the-top violence/scatological humor. I mean - it always had it, but I think it was the fight scene where they were just bleeding all over, and I just kinda said "eh".
Maybe there's still some good stuff to mine, I think when they nail it, they really nail it, but it's kind of like SNL since the late 90s where it just kinda drags on and on and yeah we get the point already.

I convinced my friend's brother's family to rent when we were over the weekend it came out. I enjoyed the movie, as did my friend who had minimal exposure to Tim and Eric but liked what he had seen. His brother and brother's wife didn't make it through the movie. I didn't care, well worth it for me.

The scatological/gross-out stuff is the stuff I like the least in Tim & Eric, and it seems like that element would only be ramped way up in a film vs. their TV shows.

dagusto: In my opinion, the best comedy love scene still is (are) the MacGruber one(s).
I really liked Tim and Eric's billion dollar film, it has three or four classic bits. It does run out of steam at the halfway point and the whole thing could probably be edited down to 45 solid quality minutes, but the good bits are the funniest ones in recent memory.

I'm not a huge Tim & Eric fan (I'd say my usual breakdown of the show is 35% funny 30%meh 35%wtf?), but I liked the movie. It's worth sitting through at least once. If I had to describe it, imagine it as Tim & Eric's "UHF" (packed with T&E humor instead of Weird Al's).

As a fan of Tim and Eric, I felt kinda "meh" to the film. Once it hit about the half way point, it just kinda ran out of steam for me.
That said, I am more full of Shrim than I have ever been before.

Speaking of odd ball movies, I saw that Abraham Lincoln vampire Hunter is coming out in June and I had a good laugh.
It would be fun to watch in the theater but you know $15 so maybe not.

This i don't get. KFM is one of my favorite movies ever, but i just can't stand these guys. Their humor just seemed too forced "weird", not in a good natural way, but like when accountants try to be funny by wearing a silly tie or hat. I get people have different tastes, and some people find this hilarious, but when i try to watch it, all i keep thinking is "who did these guys fuck to get these shows?" while Moral Oral gets cancelled.

I'm a pretty decent Awesome Show fan and I didn't think the movie lived up to their best works.
At best they take something which is common (Bad Advertisements) or on the verge of common (Bad Cable Access shows) and make them absurd while keeping the original "let's do our best" intent that is so common with the originators of some of these dastardly works.
At worst, at least to me, are the completely nonsensical bits (like the oh mama bit) which seem to have no arc. I try really hard to get these ones because I am a devoted absurdist (in the Camus tradition) and really think they are saying something with these ones - but I just can't do it.
The B$M seems to barely hit their best points while accentuating their worst to ill effect. The Shrim gag was over the top and didn't seem to add anything but gratuitous gross out though the shooting of taquito seemed to hit the mark - if it was a tad cliche. Overall I'm disappointed.
Honestly, their ad campaign and interview circuit was better than the movie.

I'd never heard of these guys until recently. Then I saw the trailer a few days ago.
It comes off like Trey Parker and Matt Stone for dummies. One of those films where, if you're not pre-sold on their shtick, it makes zero sense and has zero appeal. Granted, I'm basing this on the trailer, but shouldn't that entice me, as a neutral potential audience member, to watch? Instead, the trailer came across as so oblique that there didn't seem to be any way into it. Like a 30 Rock promo that only featured closeups of Kenneth Parcell saying random things.

I loved Moral Orel, but by the last season, they were not actually trying to be funny anymore. It was more about unrelenting sadness. Which was fantastic, but not really a box of chuckles.
