Make A Shorter Link: Very handy for those long, wieldy URLs...

And has the side-effect of making links an advert for the service.

Personally I can only think of one use for this - avoiding the "copy and paste" routine when a URL wraps over two lines in an e-mail. But is it worth the hassle of going to another site? I don't think so. Something about this feels a little tacky.

it's been worth the hassle for me - i've used it a lot when trying to send 3 'line' urls to newbie-ish friends and workmates who are more likely to give up and say "didn't work" than try and manually assemble the address in their location bar...

also they have a bookmarklet, which will get anyone a thumbs up from me :)

but i have a feeling this might be a double post (and noted when previewing)...

I had the idea for this a year and a half ago...was gonna call it "shrinkalink.com," but I couldn't figure out how to make it work. Sigh.

This isn't much of a solution.
