Lo Pan Style! Yes, it's a Gangnam parody. But how many Gangnam parodies feature a cameo by James Hong?

I can't imagine how I would even begin to explain just how awesome this is (or why) to any of the people in my life.

Nevertheless, it is made entirely of win.

Hell of not being able to explain Big Trouble in Little China.

I feel a little bad that by posting this you have denied Egg Shen an awesome eponystericality opportunity.

Ok, till I saw him in the elevator I thought the whole thing was James Hong. I must be just so monumentally naive.

That's okay, Egg Shen can just post the "Goldblum Style" parody that's probably due any minute now...

I've been pretty pro-Gangham Style up to this point...this may have stopped that momentum in my world. Good production values, though.

Undoubtedly the most rocking cover ever made for Gangnam Style. SLYT. Gangnam Matt Rach Style.

Also recently deleted from the Front Page: The Gangnam Style Dancing Horse.

Personally, I don't see this "Gangnam Fever" dying down any time soon, so expect another not-easily-deletable Gangnam thread soon after this one closes, to be followed by Gangnam Christmas and Gangnam Valentines Day. Before this over, more Americans will support going to war against Psy's home South Korea than North Korea.

Okay, so since every Gangnam post today has (rightfully) been deleted so far, I'm wary of making another one.

Still, I had to come here and let you all know that Gangnam Style is now officially over. The great artist and dissident Ai Weiwei has rendered all future attempts to cash in on this meme entirely futile.

Anamnesis cover
posted by urbanwhaleshark at 4:53 AM on October 25, 2012

Sorry, not even the great Ai Weiwei can jump this shark. I do like how the whole meme has progressed from videos of people, kids and animals dancing along with the song to parody videos (the best ones using the vocals-stripped instrumental tracks of the original) as well as some single illustrations of potential parodies that should NOT become videos, to musical makeovers using the original vocals (the Matt Rach and Anamnesis versions). No, the only thing that can - and probably will - kill this Gangnam Monster will be when Psy Guy makes his inevitably not-as-successful-and-therefore-branded-failure attempt at a follow-up. Because it's the kind of thing you can only do once.
