Link from NYTimes front page: as though any party or politician is "Taint" free. Sort of like saying every MF post is thotful, entelligent, and well spelt. [this post notwithstanding]

greyscale, pretty poorly done FPP: what is the significance of the "link from NYTimes front page"? what is the point of sarcastic riposte, including scare quotes for the word "Taint"? Is this poll designed to gauge public attitudes about how all politicians are or are not taint-free (as you suggest) or merely attempting to judge which politicians will have more trouble with the label, surely a reasonable polling exercise?

That said, I believe all politicians DO have a taint, right between their genitalia and their rectum.

You know. 'Taint one, and 'taint the other.

So, the news flash here is that the majority of Americans do not see the big picture through the cloud of a media frenzy? Or what?

The GOP will eventually claim that the response to 911 was their idea, no suprise there. They will also claim that they are the only ones capable of defending the country, no suprise there, either.

Domestic issues rule, always have, always will.THe GOP can talk about carpet-bombing third-world countries all they want, most of us aren't impressed.

Of course, the Bush Gang is lying about Enron.

Both parties had their hands in Enron, both parties need to take a certain amount of responsibility, and both parties need to be more forthcoming as to what the hell happened.

That having been said, I believe (repeat, believe) that the Republicans will bear the brunt of this responsibility. No amount of PR or politicizing will change the depth to which the GOP associated with Enron, the administration's acceptance of Enron's lopsided campaign funding, and the amount of sway that Enron had in helping determine energy policy in this country.

If this scandal reaches Washington, it goes without saying that the Republicans are going to have a lot of explaining to do, and the Democrats will exploit that as much as they possibly can.
