Way better than anything on Fox News.

This should be the new broadcast standard for all dramatic reenactments forever and ever.

Are these puppet re-enactors making a living wage? Won't someone think of the poor, poor courtroom sketch artists in these tough economic times?

At least Action News admits they're using puppets.

And just like that, I have hope for the future of journalism once more.

There was a sinking feeling as I read this.

"Surely it's some other Cuyahoga county

... Action news, there have to be a ton of those across the country

... Action news 19, that's pretty specific

... Nope, definitely grew up there. Way to represent, northeast Ohio."

That was all kinds of awesome. The news definitely needs more (felt) puppets.

This thread is way more entertaining since I now imagine all of you as Muppet knock offs.

Puppet eyes look far more animated than actual juror eyes.

None of the kids who would most enjoy the puppets/muppets are going to know what that cassette recorder is. I feel old.

Your honor, the defense would like to call to the stand, Lou Zealand.

Originally they were going to use marionettes, but there were concerns that it may result in a hung jury.

I think juror #2 is Guy Smiley.

The expressions on the jurors are just *killing* me. This rules.

Just to give the non-Clevelanders further hilarious background and perspective, 19 ACTION News is now home to Carl Monday of "you jackin' it?" fame (previously on Metafilter)... so really, weirdo puppets are the least of their worries.

I've been sticking to this whole, "I'm from Northeast Ohio" bit while in Wisconsin. I'm sorta conflicted as to whether this is evidence to support such a claim, or to drop it.

How many open puppet threads does metafilter need? As many as it can get!

The idea is amazing, but if there's video they're hiding it well.
