Bennett Foddy's CLOP is like Bennett Foddy's QWOP, but with Unicorns.

Four legs good, two legs bad.

I still managed to fall onto my back.

So I thought that I would take this as a valuable opportunity to learn about equine gait but I'll be goddamned if I wasn't actually made worse off by knowing how I should try to go about it to be accurate to the biology of the thing. My first run was my best one.

If you just press H+K, after a while you unlock "Lame Horse Mode". Not recommended for the uphill sections.

I think I need a game where you're an octopus, or a snail. Or a pet rock.

So much easier that QWOP that I am, at times, popping a successful wheelie.

Hoofie?

There's also a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic one, made a few weeks ago:
Twilight vs. Walking

Lucky for us it's not QWERUIOP to handle all four legs like in QWOP. It's hard enough getting a positive distance on QWOP.

cyberscythe: "Twilight vs. Walking"

There should be a book at the other end of the room. Without that kind of incentive I couldn't get her to move at all.

I read the title and feared the worst.

ArmyOfKittens, there is a book obstacle after the first screen I hear. And later than that: STAIRS.

I actually don't know which came first, Twilight vs. Walking or CLOP. I was going to mention TvW but, thankfully, someone else already did.

Today I learned that QWOP/CLOP was made by the guy who used to play bass for Cut Copy -- which means the hours of joy he's given me as a musician just about balances out the frustration he's given me with his games.

(Not true, actually, I like Cut Copy lots more than I hate QWOP)

(You might be interested, then, in this little game he did recently as a commission for a Pitchfork music/games series.)

Lame Horse Mode is just mean. Poor little lame horse.

Hilarious! And I agree, the less you know about horse gaits for this, the better.

Well, I got a lot further than I ever did with QWOP.

The thing I find most frustrating about basically every physics based game is that I want the simulation to be happening about twice as fast. Nothing ever just falls, it always tilts... slowly... over.
I know Box2D already performs multiple steps per frame, so I understand it's a limitation of how much you can push the speed before collisions are missed, but dammit I can already see it's going to collapse, go down already!

I think the game is set on the moon.

Gorammit this game. I've had some luck with alternating [JK] [HL], practically galloping over the first hill entirely on his hind legs, but I cannot get up the second hill. I managed to claw my way over once, pawing at the dirt lame horse style, but then there's a jump.

If CWOP had microtransactions, there's a fair chance I'd shell out a quid for a button to make the spike-brained git LEAN. FORWARD.

Waiting for Qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm,./1234567890, which is for amputee centipedes... or something...

I can get a decent start by going with inner/outer pairs (J+K then H+L) at about 1 second intervals. Not sure how to reduce the lean-backward tendency.
Is there an optimum offset for each pair? Perhaps K then J, and H then L - this gets the forelegs moving before the hindlegs.

Related funny: http://www.blameitonthevoices.com/2010/07/animated-gif-of-day-fail-running-stick.html I don't think the CLOP horse could get as much air as that one though!
