It's 1983. Put Eddie Van Halen and Brian May in a room together. The result? Of course, Star Fleet, a cover of the theme from the children's marionette tokusatsu series broadcast Saturday mornings in the U.K.
I remember this. My roommate had the EP on vinyl. Amazing stuff.

Got a CD copy made by a friend who got a digital copy of the vinyl several years ago. I wish Eddie and Brian had made a whole album because it was marvelous.

Have this on vinyl ... love it dearly. So much fun.
(If you like this, BTW, you will almost certainly also love Andrew W.K.'s Gundam tribute record.)

Holy crap, the first house my family lived in had those exact same couches from the "room together" link. Were my parents inviting Eddie Van Halen and Brian May over without telling me?

On the back of that EP is the equally amazing bluesbreakers jam session, inspired by the John Mayall/Clapton Beano album.

I loved this album. Spent countless hours with my buddy Dirk trying to nail all those riffs. Thanks for posting this!

I remember buying this on vinyl when I was 17 from a record store in Mountain View right when it came out. There are some cool jams on there. Eddie did all his typical showboating (not that I'm complaining) but Brian outplayed him in his own understated way, which was still pretty flashy (compared to most other guitarists).
I think I mentioned this album as a little known gem on a Metafilter thread some years ago. Thanks for making it a FPP.

Only somebody who is a) English and b)Brian May could get away with calling Mr Van Halen "Edward", I suspect.
