Yesterday on AskReddit: Where/how could an aspiring pot smoker such as myself buy weed on campus/near campus? Marked as best answer: *Cough*
Ironically, the insults were wrong. He lives in his employer's basement.

Reddittor : Wish cops here in the US had a sense of humor that didn't involve laughing at a guy having a seizure induced by a tazer or pepper spray. :|
Teh Fuzz : There's nothing funny in that. It's sad...and disgusting.

If this really is the Vic PD they are doing a fantastic job at social media, especially Twitter interaction within the Greater CRD Region on Vancouver Island.
It's true, the Victoria police department really does do a good job interacting, in a very natural and accessible way, on #yyj (aka Victoria) social media.

I liked his response to the question on his stance on the legalisation of pot:
If this was a personal account maybe, but it's the offical VicPD one. We don't make the laws. I spoke to this earlier tho Your vote = Your Govt = Your laws = My rule book
Another excellent reminder on why we should vote.

You're right. Bigotry. It's sad...and disgusting even when such ignorant prejudice is one of the few that are accepted by too many.

Yes. This answer made me love him very deeply precisely because he views himself as existing under a rule of law rather than as the poor man's Judge Dredd.

I love it so when anyone says "Cheese it!"
and I knew I was on the internet when I started reading about a Victoria police officer and ended up on a subreddit of dragons making sweet love to automobiles.
Thereafter, I shut down my computer, closed it, and put a rock on top of it to make sure nothing got out.

funniest comment was at the bottom:
if you really want to try weed, just find some people smoking it and ask to buy a joint. Try just a little, you may get higher than you would like. also note that smoking weed is somewhat like alcohol. There is a time and place. Also, everything in moderation. be careful.
whoosh.

>We're "aspiring" pot smokers now? That just... I don't even.
Don't see why. If you hadn't smoked, but did pay even slight attention to popular culture you'd see yourself looking in at what appears to be a damn good party. A mild euphoric that, according to a huge and active fan base, enhances everything, helps with stress, is lauded in almost every form of media and has only the mildest of downsides.
Wouldn't you want to try it?
