Rabbits with big pointy teeth are on my list of gifts for friends this holiday season. What other cool gifts are there that you can get for under $50?

The Lomo Super Sampler for $50, right on the mark! "Four highly light-sensitive and highest precision panorama lenses are arranged vertically to capture four precisely positioned panorama shots in series on a single photograph." A fun toy for a reasonable price!

Probably off-topic, but I'd like to buy my girlfriend a DomoKun plush, and still can't find anyone selling them in France.

Cool gifts under $50 ? Lots ! Hell, most of my close-family gifts don't even reach that number (separately).
Yet again, maybe I'm just a cheap bastard...

Rabbits with big pointy teeth ...
You'll be wanting the accompanying book and it's cunningly named sequel.

You all remember the MeFi contest, right?

A stupid looking pacifier always makes a great gift for the new parents...$11.95, hard to beat!

That contest stank, IMHO. I want good, genuine responses not aimed at winning a prize.

Plus, given the season, people have been shopping for good stuff. If there's new cool stuff around, now is the time to know about it. (Example: the rabbits with big pointy teeth only started shipping this month).

There's this: turdtwister

Not sure I'd count it as "cool." I don't know how I'd classify it.

>>there's always the Penny Arcade book, now on sale. probably something I'm going to end up buying myself.< fat lot of good it will do you. they cashed my check in may--and where is my special edition? not here that's for damned sure. which is why the consolation gift for my boyfriend will be a href="http://www.qvc.com/asp/frameset.asp?class=2039">a $25 old skool console video game from qvc.

the best christmas present I've found so far this year: $16/roll bondage tape -- 2 inches wide, 65 feet/roll, reusable, wont stick to skin or hair, comes in four colors.
