Ringo takes a shot. And Again.

In certain other parts of the internet, Marisa Stole the Precious Thing's comment would be followed by "done in one."
In lieu of that, I'll say "came here for the Simpsons reference, leaving satisfied."

It was the Today Show that actually tracked them down and took the photo. But They are being flown out by Ringo to see him in a concert in Las Vegas, I believe.

Being stalked and photographed by a celebrity is quite the man bites dog story.

When I was younger, much younger, I thought if I was a Beatle that I would be Ringo because like him, I was a goofy looking fucker.
This warms the cockles of my heart. I get a real kick out of seeing the toll that time takes from people. I used to sit at the retirement home I was made to volunteer at when I was 14 and wonder what those people looked like when they were young. It was impossible for me then - as much as I tried, I couldn't possibly relate.
This has gotten easier with time.

I would be pissed if I were excluded from the picture because the fucking Today Show couldn't put on their glasses to see that I exist, man.

Hope they don't ask him to sign anything.

Interesting project by Ringo. As for other Ringo viz art, I found myself bewildered and confused by his (microsoft?) paintings earlier this week, particularly the 2005 gallery. I... well, there's no accounting for taste, I guess.

Am I the only one to think it's remarkable after 50 years they're all still alive? Perhaps that's the fate of the 6th man.

If they were teenagers at the time*, they'd be in their mid-to-late 60s now, so the odds aren't too bad.
* did people continue being into rock'n'roll into their 20s back then, or were they expected to have well and truly grown out of all that teenybopper stuff by the time they got a job/married/bought a house?

You guys don't get it. When Ringo took the original photo... there were only five people in the car!

In the linked Daily Mail article it mentions that the 6th teenager, Matt Blender, has passed away.

Simple explanation: They mention five Beatles fans in the car. The sixth person in the car in the first shot was not a Beatles fan. Therefore, he doesn't figure into the count.
The blond lady with the bangs hardly looks a day older. If she's had work done, it is damn good work, and worth every penny. If it's just good genes, I hope she has a big family passing them around.
Ringo is a smart and creative guy, who probably never got enough credit for it because of his whimsical-sounding stage name.
