Annabel Lecter's curious cakes and confections

"Welcome to the CONJURER'S KITCHEN,  where  Annabel de Vetten (aka Annabel Lecter) performs her culinary wizardry. Leaning towards more unusual and creatively decorated cakes, our creations range from artistic to anatomical, and from creepy to occasionally cute. The more unusual the request, the happier we are. Nothing is too weird for the Conjurer's Kitchen! Seriously...."

- lifesized cake of Dexter to commemorate the show's final season
- Codex Serafinianus cake
- Creepy Cat With Hands cake
- controversial white chocolate baby heads
- "I often get asked what's inside the decorated cakes, what they taste like. So I thought I would create a cake to answer that question."

The baby heads were actually more grotesque than I was imagining, well done indeed.

..and lo, many Goths rushed to her website, credit cards clenched in chipped black nailed fingers, for all their cake needs...

So, like, very little actual cake is in these cakes?

Yeah, and the Codex Seraphinianus cake was more beautiful than I was imagining.

I'd like to see her make an actual meat-cake.

the man of twists and turns: Meat Cake

That. Is. Amazing. I'm totally doing that for April Fool's Day next year.

Would the 'baby' from Eraserhead be a cake too far?

Somebody did make Eraserhead cakepops....

Those cakes are really works of art but some of the concepts are in a zone of TRYING TOO HARD for me to really appreciate them. The wedding cake with all the kitten skulls - if I saw that at someone's wedding I would never stop rolling my eyes at them ever.

I have got old; my seventeen-year-old self is screaming at me for being dull inside my head.

Ironically, the only truly evil cake is angel food cake.

I can see that there's alot of artistry in these cakes, but many of them I just find repulsive. Weirdly, I found the Dexter cake most jolting, as I wasn't expecting it and it took me a second to categorize it as "cake".

There's a really cute sloth cake but I cannot seem to link to it directly; it's on the miscellaneous cakes page, at the bottom it's the one second from the left (next to the tiger).

That was a very clever answer to the question (and a gorgeously decorated cake on the external side), but it looks like it's just another fondant abomination. Sigh.

Yeah, I wonder what they actually taste like.
