The buttered bandages gave me Eraserhead flashbacks.

Following a viewing of these videos, my five month old daughter just looked across the room and I swear to god uttered a squeak exactly like that of a baby sloth. Awesome.
Off to see if I can get her to repeat this trick.

The noises they make, and the way the caretaker dressed them up in the "hot buttered sloths" link reminded me of Little Otik, if anyone else has actually seen that. Needless to say, I had a slightly different reaction than "squee".

Ok, I completely lost it about the 1:20 mark in the injustice video.
Why is nobody hugging them? Their one job on earth is to hug things.
I volunteer. Although I'll probably have to fight Kristen Bell for the position.

I said that a previous post was FPP of the year, I can't remember which one it was, but I was wrong. THIS is FPP of the year. OF. THE. YEAR.

Why, I make exactly those same noises when I exercise!
Doesn't happen often.

I never realized before how much baby sloths and baby bats have in common. Furry little faces with shiny noses, spend a lot of time upside down, and grow up to be simultaneously adorable and terrifying.

Aww, adorable baby sloths! I went to a rescue centre with baby sloths once. In addition to being super cute, they also were hilarious. The staff was trying to train them to sleep hanging from trees instead of just lying on the ground, so they would be safer in the wild. There was one little sloth that had this all figured out and would crawl out on the lowest hanging branch, which would then drop even lower. Then he would hope no one would notice that he was sleeping with his back resting on the ground, since his hands were nominally holding onto a branch!

Ahh, but the real question is: 2-toed or 3-toed?
(3-toes ftw)
Also, sloths are in the same category as red pandas in that I secretly suspect that they were engineered by an entertainment company as a cuteness experiment. Jim Henson was involved.

I've decided to believe that the noise that the babies make is them calling out "Ma! Maaa! Ma?!"
It makes the videos much funnier, particularly when they cut to another one doing the same thing. It's creates a narrative of the world's slowest, cutest game of Marco (Mom) Polo.
