Fawn frolics with rabbit (SLYT) (no cats, sorry, but at least it's filmed in landscape).
I think the faun ate the rabbit at the end and then was playing innocent. Don't trust those deer! They are killers!

The rabbit is just more cautious because it's so much smaller than the deer. The real tell is when the deer jumps and the rabbit jumps in response. Contagious happiness.

Saddened to discover that the rabbit's behavior is actually defensive; So basically the fawn is just fucking with it.

It's not defensive. If the rabbit was actually scared it would run away. It's just cautious.

my interpretation is the deer is fucking with it but only in the way the high school kid who lived across the street fucked with me and my two brothers, who shot at us with his BB gun until my brother decided for some reason to shuck off his clothes and chase the BB gun kid around with his nakedness.

What's with all of the "playful", "dancing" deer videos lately?
My mind goes immediately to CWD.
But then, All I know about the symptoms of CWD is what read and they are never very specific.

No, that's pretty typical deer behavior.

Of all my time spent around deer (and it's been a lot) I have never seen deer acting this way anywhere near people or with other animals. Other deer when they aren't in any danger, sure. But a rabbit (or earlier this week, a dog). That is just way outside the range of behavior I have seen.
But hey, there's more in this world than I have ever seen or will ever see.
