Garfield minus Garfield Plus Lying Cat. (SLTumblr) In this remixed comic, Jon Arbuckle lives with a very different but equally dubious feline.
Fiona Staples draws the shit out of that cat.

I hope to one day see Vaughan introduce Lame Cat, Lying Cat's stylish littermate. Instead of being able to instantly assess the honesty of any given statement, Lame Cat is able to make a perfect accurate value judgement as to whether any statement, thing, or person is lame.
Actually, you could make a whole spin off brood from Lying Cat....Dissembling Cat, Trolling Cat, Sarcasm Cat, Praise-Seeking Cat, Sympathy Cat...all monosyllabic in their own way...
Any artists there who want to start a cat based web comic? Let me know....

My family used to have sphinx cats, so Lying Cat always makes me smile. I wanna hug the adorable green skinkitty (ɴᴏᴛ ʟʏɪɴɢ).

If any character deserves the Pusheen-style Facebook sticker treatment, it's Lying Cat.

This is dumb in the best possible way. I love it.
But then, I love Lying Cat. I am a proud owner of the Lying Cat T-shirt, which was printed exactly once and basically immediately sold out. It's only three years old and I still get plenty of "Where did you get that?" or "Awesome shirt!" from people. It's totally a secret code to know who's cool.
I need to catch up on Saga, though. I may be two volumes behind at this point.

I am still sad about Lying Cat's eye though. Poor kitty.
I'm behind on Saga also, I like to wait for the big hefty volumes and then binge read.

Anything that adds another layer of WUT-ness to Garfield has my approval. Garfield minus Garfield is win-win. Let's take out Jon and Odie as well. Add more real cats.

I love Metafilter; everyone here immediately jumps to knowing where Lying Cat comes from. I'd never heard of Saga but am glad to say that a copy of volume 1 is on its way to me, in two days for less than $6 thanks to the wonders of Amazon. So hey, this unlicensed use on a Tumblr helped sell product!

This made me laugh so hard that I sputtered saliva all over my iPad and now it smells like stale spit.

if she can't draw the shit out if it then it isn't in Saga, something that makes for a very strong collaboration.

I saw a version of that at least 20 years ago in National Lampoon, Spy or Bloom County or something.
