I like Turkish Delight

Scottish comedian Limmy took the music from a 1984 Fry's Turkish Delight ad and made a techno remix (soundcloud, 6.20). Original ad (youtube, 1.00).
Fry's Turkish Delight is pretty rank. i wonder how many people it's put off eating real Turkish Delight?
(The song is great)

The Fry's stuff is OK. But it's no match for floral gums in the league of what my wife calls "Granny's neck sweets".

Sadly disappointed by the lack of "Kill Jester" and red cola.

Wow, I'd forgotten all about that terrible advert.

Nice remix, but I wouldn't betray my brother and two sisters to the White Witch over it.

Ha! After watching The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe I begged my Mum for Turkish Delight. "You won't like it" she said. "I wiiiiiiiill" I said. She finally relented and I was like "WHY IS IT FLOWERS" and that was the end of that.

During my visit to London last year I managed to wander into Harrods by accident (dear god.) Since I was already traumatized I decided to buy some turkish delight to bring back to the office.
And ended up eating most of it as my coworkers kept going "OH GOD ROSES PBLAGH!" at me.

I can't say I've had a Fry's Turkish Delight. But it looks like the local version (in Canada) is the "Big Turk" which is one of my favourite bars. The other being "Eat-more".
I am aware that my tastes are considered odd. Given that when most of my friends list their least favourite chocolate bars those two seem to top everyone's list.

it's a further indictment of Edmund's character that he can be seduced by such terrible candy

I like Turkish Delight. A friend brought some from Turkey and gave them as a gift last year. They were dipped in dark chocolate. That box was finished so quickly.

cirhosis, are you a trucker? One of my friends used to work in his family's convenience store and he said that truckers loved Big Turk and Eat More.

Much as I always append the words "not Constantinople" to "Istanbul" every time I hear it, Turkish delight calls to mind a moonlit night.

aw man, I misread this as Stephen Fry's Turkish Delight and kept waiting for him to pop up in the original ad in character as Jeeves....
