So what's the point? Why is a bra and panty fashion show being put on for homeless hungry youth? I don't get it.

I bet the kids were there on display to pull money from attendees. The fashion show was probably a sop to that crowd and not aimed at the kids.
I notice the charity is never named. Anyone have any local news of the event?

Who the hell writes like that? Did the reporter just see one of those kids sniff glue, or is this a rash generarlization? Why not "some of whom are assholes" or "some of whom have hard-ons" or "some of whom just jizzed their pants" ?? Why's the glue sniffing so important here?

I'm done asking questions about this stupid assed post. Without context and/or further explanations it's just a collection of blurry softcore, with a hint of furrners are weird.

It's porn because the audience isn't viewing it to discover new trends in ladies undergarments, they're being titillated, much like the Yahoo story isn't covered because we're all hungry from local news from Columbia, ergo softcore.
And I have a friend that started with cocoa and graduated to a full blown Ovaltine addiction.

There are only so many column inches in your average fashion magazine. If the press starts listing all the illicit substances that are in the audience of runway shows, they won't have room for all the scary pictures.

The kid in the red on the far right. That's the other right, not the side with the booty.
In this one, the kid between the two holding yellow bottles has a bag or rag up to his face. I can't tell but I believe the yellow bottles are glue bottles as well.

"Sniffing" glue because they're hungry?
Ok, that might be, but primarily because it gets them totally high. Also, it's very cheap and available basically anywhere. I was in Argentina last year. All the street kids were doing it (often had it smeared on their clothes), and a whole bunch of one of my cousin's punk friends were doing it ... hell, even he was.
YES, people, South American street kids are inhaling glue fumes like crazy. It's ruining their brains. I'm glad it was pointed out in the picture.

redteam: Yes, definitely to get high (saw the same thing in Argentina last year also). Of course, I do not know if these particular Colombian kids are street children, or if they are hungry.
Just a visceral thing, really: I instantly thought of this story from the New Yorker when I read this thread. Best piece of glue-huffing fiction in some time.
Finally, the underwear model angle to this thing is completely baffling.

Some people however have a different view.
Vegetable vendor Mthavini Khoza said she condoned the boys' action.
"These boys are doing the right thing because their actions are likely to reduce the tendencies of wearing 3cm (sic) skirts in public and embarrass every woman," she said.
"I wish they rape them one day so they may start respecting their bodies," Khoza said.
One of the boys, a 14-year-old whose name cannot be revealed because of his age, had no qualms to speak about the incident.
"I feel very happy after masturbating next to a woman with beautiful legs and wearing see-through clothes," the boy said.
"There is no girl out there who wants a filthy glue-sniffing street kid so the only way to relieve our sexual appetite is to masturbate," he explained.

I remember seeing a documentary or special on glue sniffing a few years ago. Apparently, it would be fairly easy for glue manufacturers to put a chemical in the glue that would make the kids get sick before they would get high, theoretically preventing them from using the glue for this purpose. And apparently it would have absolutely zero effect on its usage as a glue. But for some reason companies aren't adding it to their product. Hmmmm...
In any case, even if the kids are sniffing glue just to get high, it's still a problem. Self-destructive drug use is generally an indicator that something else is fundamentally wrong. Most pot smokers (most) go on to be more or less productive in their lives. The same can not necessarily be said for glue sniffers, I'd imagine.
