We recently saw people playing at being zombies, which is fun and all, but wouldn't you rather kill zombies than be one? I sure as hell would, so there's [more inside]
Wow, thanks for the list. I'll have to save this for when I'm finished with Dead Rising and Resident Evil 4.

Seriously, listen to riotgrrl, she speaks the truth. That game finally made me feel like my elite typing skills had a place in the post-apocalyptic world.

Neil Manke of BlackWidow Games has been plugging away at Lost Souls, the Source Engine follow up to They Hunger. Here's an article on the history of his work, including the most recent information and screenshots of the new project. They created the Coconut Monkey levels as well! Fun post, stavros... thank you!

riotgrrl69 is so right. Typing of the Dead was one of my favorite games on the Dreamcast. An unexpectedly great party game as well.

Ah, nice. I had no idea there was an AoD mod for FT. Doubtful I will have time now, but later when I am not spending tons of time working in my gardens I am going to enjoy this.

I'll recommend both The Typing of the Dead and Urban Dead. TTotD is great because it scales to your typing skill level. I'm an extremely fast, extremely accurate typist (thus, of course, ensuring that I'll drop at least one or two typos in this post) and the game was still challenging to me after the first couple levels, but not overly challenging.
Urban Dead starts out kind of slow, but once you build up a couple skills, can be pretty enjoyable until you buy all available skills, at which point it gets a little dull. But while you're advancing your character, it's fun.

Don't take it personally Astro Zombie, it's just that we are preparing for the inevitable war between your kind and ours.
Well, on second though, maybe you should take it personally.
Thanks for all the links, I really wasn't in the mood to work today anyway.

All we want to do is eat your brains
We’re not unreasonable, I mean, no one’s gonna eat your eyes
All we want to do is eat your brains
We’re at an impasse here, maybe we should compromise:
If you open up the doors
We’ll all come inside and eat your brains.

Let me point out again that I am merely an undead, solar powered astronaut designed for hazardous space flight, and not the flesh eating ghouls who will be responsible for the inevitable zombie takeover. I might cleave someone's head open with a machete is ordered to, but I'm not the ravenous undead maw people so greatly fear.

In a high wind the leaves fall from the trees. The zombies are standing about talking. "Beautiful day!" "Certainly is!" The zombies have come to buy wives from the people of this village, the only village around that will sell wives to zombies. "Beautiful day!" "Certainly is!" The zombies have brought many cattle. The bride price to a zombie is exactly twice that asked of an ordinary man. The cattle are also zombies and the zombies are in terror lest the people of the village understand this.
These are good zombies. Gris Grue said so. They are painted white all over. Bad zombies are unpainted and weep with their noses, their nostrils spewing tears. The village chief calls the attention of the zombies to the fine brick buildings of the village, some of them one thousand bricks high -- daughters peering from the windows, green plants in some windows and, in others, daughters. "You must promise not to tell the Bishop," say the zombies, "promise not to tell the Bishop, beautiful day, certainly is."
