Russian fisherman catch squeaking alien and eat it. Footage of the 100kg monster was also caught on camera phone (possibly nsfw page).
e.t.= extra tasty.

Sturgeon are very ugly and very delicious, though endangered in many parts of the world.
The bottoms of animals are usually uglier than the top side, and that is the bottom of an ugly sturgeon.
If they'd flipped it over, there'd be no story.

A classic Fiji Mermaid hoax! People have been turning skates, rays and other fish into icky, dried things for a really long time. A good image search reveals dozens of specimens.

Also: The phenomenon by which we see a face in the underside of a fish (and the Virgin Mary in a grilled cheese) was explained quite well in todays New York Times.

aladfar: I'm surprised the NY Times article (in particular the photo sequence featuring Bill Clinton's face, where they point out that it's generally harder to recognize faces when they are upside down) didn't comment on this phenomena, in which features that are upside down appear to be normal faces.
I first remember seeing this done with Lincoln's face, but I couldn't quickly find an example.

Guitarfish are cool, they have a bunch of meat in the tail and give a good pull when you catch them.It does say 100 kg and that is either a fish story or a skate as guitarfish are not that big. I cannot remember them squeaking but there is much I do not remember.

How about an apology to linking to Fark.ru while you are at it? Just out of principle. Think about how well a FPP linking to Metafilter.cc would go over.
