This really works! I've used this method for years.

My only change would be to just go ahead and tear the tag out.

I saw this a couple years ago but looking at it now, the final product reminds me more of something from the middle east than a ninja.

Agreed. I have had mine on all day since I found this site at 9am this morning. Although admittedly, since the t-shirt I picked out was lime green, I probably do not look as tough as some of you probably do. I do look spring-y, however.
