Manson on Geraldo

Manson on Geraldo. Raw footage from Geraldo Rivera's 1987 interview with Charles Manson [1 2 3 4 5 6 7 YouTube NSFW language]. If the duration and the swearing are too much for you, try Bob Odenkirk's Manson and Ask Manson [both YouTube] from the Ben Stiller Show.
BTW, thanks for the post, McLir... I'm looking forward to watching the Manson interview a little later on.

Bob Odenkirk's Manson as Lassie is one of the funniest sketches ever in the history of TV. Thanks.

That is truly a great sketch. I hope he finds a new project that expresses his full talent soon.

The episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm where Bob Odenkirk plays "Porno Gil" is one my favorites.

You can say that again. Pure magic that. I'd like to start an Odenkirk thread with all YouTube links but I don't have the balls. Poolio? :::smile::::
I loved "The Ben Stiller Show" when it first aired, but I got the DVD set a year or two ago, and it wasn't as good as I remembered. There are some really funny sketches, but they're too few and far between, IMO.
Yeah, I had that same feeling. A lot of those sketches were dated ("A Few Good Men" sketch comes to mind) but you can see the seeds of Mr. Show being fertilized and the rest is history.

Same thing here! It had some great sketches but a lot of the other stuff was waaaay funnier in my brain in retrospect than on the screen.
I was so excited when I found The Ben Stiller Show on dvd that since he'd never seen it I actually sat my boyfriend down to make him watch it. Halfway through, I looked at him, kinda embarrassed, and said, "Umm, it really was hysterical at the time. I swear." He just nodded and tried to humor me with "Well, it did have a few funny moments."

Oh yes. I saw this when it first aired and have frequently described it to people in an animated fashion exclaiming that it was one of the funniest sketches in the history of TV.
THANK YOU!

Trip out! Bob Odenkirk was at the bar I was at tonight. What a coincidence that I now sit here reading about him on Metafilter!

Kinda scary - I remember watching the Geraldo/Manson interview on TV when it originally aired. I was/am a True Crime buff, so that was my excuse. My 70-something dad, however, was watching and commenting more than once, "You know, that guy is damned charismatic. I can see why people would listen to him." Thank goodness Dad wasn't a teen living near Spahn Ranch during the Summer of Love.
