Triumph of the Will - the Director's Cut This rare director's cut of Triumph of the Will (German: Triumph des Neger) is a propaganda film by the German filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl. It chronicles the Nazi getting fonky at Nuremberg. The film contains excerpts from rhymes kicked by various Nazi leaders at the Congress, including dat Brooklyn flava by Adolf Hitler, interspersed with footage of splifted party members.

All of these Triumph mashups are in poor fuckin' taste, but it does tell you something about Leni's skillz that people keep recycling her footage.

I think, in case anyone missed it, that it is necessary to mention the best mashup I've seen on this topic, a mashup of "Downfall" .

Kottke posted a link to another Downfall mashup the other day, about Hitler getting banned from a game called iSketch, which I thought was done a bit better than the XBox Live one.

Indeed, the XBox/Hitler mashup is a riot. As for the iSketch riff on it...OK, I wanted to hate it, but it had some fantastic lines. Not as good as the original though.
Nazi Admins sold it :)

This clip indicates why Hitler was able to charm an entire nation and lead it over a cliff. The BIG clip is also a good example of how bombastic and utterly meaningless pop culture can be.

Even though I'm not really a footie fan I love this Downfall mashup.
And there's always 'Der Bonker' which caused a bit of a fuss in its home country.

Clear the way for the SS to 1 W
Clear the way for the prophets of rage
Engagin' on the stage, on a track
Tell Jack stay in the back
I was born
Every level I'm on
You're warned
Just in case you forgot
I pump in kilowatts
To let 'em know which direction
To go what's up I wanna know
I test the front row
Forgiven the givin' while the livin' is livin' it up
So many people is sleepin' while standin' up
Not dressed to impress or fess it
That's it text to the brain like FedEx
Treated one and the same
'Cause the name of the game
Don't give 'em checks above necks
Some don't realize the same side
Siddity in the city
Suburbs or projects
But we're livin' in a different time
Some speed, some lead
While some jus' pump rhymes
Then again all in da same gang
Info to flow
And heal all below
Let's go and find
The piece of mind that's taken
Or else the black
or start breakin'
Public Enemy no!
