Dwarf Tossing. Pig tossing. Tuna Tossing and my personal favorite, Splat the Cat. Something for everyone. Last video not safe for the squeamish.

no salad tossing?

Dwarf tossing is not a sport. It's demeaning, and quite possibly dangerous for those of us who don't participate (if you're encouraging drunk people to think of dwarfs as projectiles, it doesn't always stop in the bar).

I used to work with a little person, he was in the entertainment biz like me. He would quite happily take part in dwarf tossing & used to organise such events involving other little people at pubs & clubs. It was quite an earner, and he was pissed off that political correctness put an end to it. So blow it out your ass.

How the hell is abusing animals, not to mention PEOPLE, an amusing MeFi post? Serious WTFville.

I hope everyone flags this post as offensive, because cruelty to animals IS OFFENSIVE.

IronLizard, I suggest you make like Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz and get a heart.

I agree with DarlingBri (though I'd never use the term "WTFville") With little viral advertising thrown in.

...I need something to take your mind off of the terribleness of dwarf flinging. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

There is a reasonable debate to be had here, but framed by such poor links this is just trolling for more WTFcrueltytoKITTY!1!!1!!! responses.

Reasonable debate to be had? About what? Whether or not small animals are aerodynamic?

What are they putting in your water?

Yeah... No thanks.

That last one is a banned ad, yes?
I'm not so much a "cat person", per se, but....

Here are your starters in the reasonable debate:
1. Aren't dwarves / small people able to decide for themselves whether they should participate in dwarf tossing? See HC Mabuse's comment above.
2. Should places / peoples with culturally sanctioned traditions that clash with modern notions of animal cruelty be allowed to continue them in a closely regulated way?
3. Is any "humorous" representation of such activities a legitimate topic for marketing?

IronLizard, are you a tosser yourself?

No. Common sense put an end to it. Get over it.

I believe that's been established.

No. Common sense put an end to it. Get over it.

So if a small person would like to be tossed into the air by another, stronger person, then we should get angry and "protect them". Oh please. It's only demeaning if it's forced against your will.

Personally, I'd love to be thrown into the air (safely) by someone else. Would be great fun.

As for animals. Just don't do it. Animals can't say no. Cats tend to love mouse tossing though. this is demeaning to the mouse but we put up with it because cats, as we all know, have no morals. Little feckers.

No cats were harmed in those links. One is a frickin 1998-style site with fake rules and publications about a fake sport; the Ford Ka vid is an obvious fake (you don't really think Ford would release a vehicle with an automated sunroof that can chop off a cat's head, right?) and the video game one is a video game. Relax.

C'mon over here shorty. Let me throw you. I know you want me to. You won't get hurt. Promise.

roofus - another topic for your list might be my theory that "lulz" are promoted as part of a CIA plot to breed up a generation of simpering cretins good for nothing but a slavish rush to the next shiny thing.
