The Athlon 1.1G Processor

The Athlon 1.1G Processor is due out this summer. I'm sure I'll need it to run my 36GB hard drives and my 140GB CDROM, but it's still a bit of a shock considering that only a few years ago I decided to splurge and get a cutting edge 486-66(MHz) with a 170MB hard drive I knew I'd never fill it up.

I bet a machine like that would play some kickass solitaire.

Is there an Intel rival for this baby?
I didn't think that a CPU of that speed would be around until 2001.

It would probably decide it doesn't need *you* to play solitare.

You're gonna waste that speed on Solitare? Minesweeper baby!

It was in the early days of the year 2000 that they developed a computer powerful enough to beat all but the best human tic-tac-toe players...

Wow, just like Big Blue vs. Kasparov. I wonder what kind of heat that thing will have.

If you mean Whoopi Goldberg, I understand there is a huge heat sink in the center square - if you mean the Altheon, it's apparently not a big heat generator - comparable to current chips at least.
