Shaun O'Boyle recently returned from Cape Canaveral where he photographed the artifacts of the early space program. They are part of the Modern Ruins site (previously, previously, and previously) which is a great place to waste an afternoon.

I visited KSC last February, and the pictures of the bottom of the Saturn V rocket do not do justice to its immense size. You can walk directly under the length of it too. I think he took some kind of very special tour, becuase we took one of the more expensive ones out to the Shuttle pads and we weren't allowed to get out and walk around like they did.

(a) Cute that Barbara (I Dream of Jeannie; concubine of astronaut Tony Nelson, of course) Eden features prominently in the "Distinguished Visitors" case; and (b) I really like the fact this collection is all b/w.

I realize the foregoing is right up there with "LOL This is sooooooo kewl dude!" in terms of content, but maybe if you read it twice it will develop more weight. So.. um... thanks very much for these. (Repeat)

I hate to say it, but these are really just pictures from the sites on the tour. They're nice, but nothing too special. I will be further perusing his site though, as I like the overall theme.
