I was saving this for valentines day, but here are some of Darwin's thoughts on marriage before he proposed.
Pro: Constant companion (& friend in old age) who will be interested in me. Better than a dog
Con: less money for books.

I find it curious that as well as being Chuck Darwin's 200th birthday today, it also Abe Lincoln's. February 12, 1809 was a good day for laying the groundwork of the better aspects of the 20th and 21st centuries.
