Smells Like Sloop John B

"Smells Like Sloop John B", a mashup of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and the Beach Boys' "Sloop John B".
See also, Songsmith Sloop John B which I ripped to MP3 and am fond of putting on at parties. It's actually pretty good.

I've been listening to modern remixes / recreations of "SMiLE" recently, and despite the mixer's best efforts, it always sounds kind of incomplete. Makes me wonder what would happen if they filled in all the gaps in those recordings from the smile sessions with stuff by other artists. It could turn out really well, maybe.
Anyway, neat video.

Cute mashup, but it's pretty ancient in internet terms. I've got an MP3 somewhere if anyone wants a higher quality

Mister_A, my comment is what you make of it. I make it to be a quote from the lyrics. You need to be more obsaudilyricavant.

I love it, but I think it took hearing the Patti Smith cover to see the SLTS as the big joke of a self-indulgent wank that it is.

I don't think Nirvana ever took it as seriously as their fans did.

I learned recently that the riff at the beginning of Smells Like Teen Spirit is basically lifted from Boston's More Than a Feeling. Nirvana knew this.

The best Teen Spirit mashup has to be the one where they do it with 'Bootylicous'; here it is "Smells Like Booty'

neololgism
Excellent. Its unpronounceability makes it all the sweeter. May I suggest a variant!
neolojism: a word made up either a) by someone who is clearly a wanker, or b) in a fit of wankery.
