Frank McCourt, Pulitzer Prize (1997) and National Book Critics Circle Award (1996) for his memoir, has died Frank McCourt, a former New York City schoolteacher who turned his miserable childhood in Limerick, Ireland, into a phenomenally popular, Pulitzer Prize-winning memoir, “Angela’s Ashes,” died in Manhattan on Sunday. People will keep dying and some obits here are great, and deserve their own space.
