Empath: the most intruiging thing to me is Everitt's timeline; outlining a "3.0" system on paper, and then never being heard from again.

that is so cool. also it seems like the cliche set-up for a comic book hero or villain.

Hadouken! I love it. I'm afraid I don't see a long, prosperous future for this guy's fingers, though.

boo_radley: his youtube channel says he last signed in 4 hours ago. But agreed - it is curious what could've happened in the last 5 months.

I saw this linked somewhere earlier this week, and while my first reaction was the obvious "This is insanely stupid and will end horribly" I have to admit that the idea of building one has been sitting in the back of my mind like a bad decision waiting to happen.

And this is definitely the best time for him to dress up and become a super hero/villain.

it reminds me of an article in the Globe and Mail last week, about kids like that and the wonders of reconstructive surgery. here it is. it's a cool read.

Did I see unburnt fuel squirting out of it for a second or so at about 1:41 on the pyro link? Yeah, I'll bet he has less skin soon.

See also Interpretive Arson's Fire Fingers (pic), which strike me as better all around.

Two automated flame-producing devices strapped to BOTH of his hands so that in the event he really needs to remove one he will sear that hand with the other device. Brilliant.
This guy isn't Pryo, he's Lex Luthor. He's conducting an experiment that will end with all his hair falling out (or worse) and he'll blame the guy who saved him for his disfigurement.

You know, the first thing I thought when I saw this was "How does this guy justify his design choices?" Good thing he cleared that up in the third video.

I would like to posit that anyone who's experienced a self-induced third-degree flash burn would probably have second thoughts about doing this.
I like how when I was watching the videos I kept thinking, "Surely he has a good reason to do this... Surely there is some sort of work or chore this would help with," and then I watched the last link and, nope, it's just to be like a comic book character.

That's pretty cool. But I want to see him fire them while he's somersault-jumping a dirtbike over a pit full of cobras, wearing nothing but a cape and a g-string.

Things I would use this for:
-Disposing of leaves from my yard
-Lighting cigarettes for trusting friends
-Smores
-Dog training
-Flashlight alternative
-Drying spills
-Clearing paperwork off my desk
-Insect repellent
-Bigger insect repellent
-Haircuts

I predict this guy has a reality tv show in the near future. Week after week he will slowly build out his superhero costume using his engineering skills. In the season finale he blows himself up just before his first patrol. His agonizing death and last words are reserved for a webisode.

This is the nerdgirl equivalent of the 17 year old buxom blonde who not only contributes accepted patches into the Linux kernel, but also fights crime in spandex on her nights off. Handsome, young man who has given himself superpowers through his intelligence and craft? Yeah. Evil points: he could, if he wanted to, set the football team on fire.
I had to settle for locking the quarterback in his own locker... this, I couldn't compete with.
