Adam Calfee makes beautiful, haunting animations, including videos for
Ill Bill - My Uncle
Ill Bill - War Is My Destiny
Radiohead - All I Need (not quite completed, but a more fully-realized minute long sample here)
and the short piece Moonboy.

Now THERE'S some powerful animation. Really loved it...this guy will really go places. I'd love to see more.

Yeah, haunting isn't enough to describe the images in the Radiohead sample (reminded me of the Breughel-like visions in Metallica's Until it Sleeps video) - disturbing, even.

He uses a variety of perspectives and uses things like focus to good effect. And he draws very emotive faces. Good stuff; thanks for the post.

Thanks for the post.
Started watching Avatar last night. Couldn't handle more than five minutes of it.
I could watch this guy's stuff for three hours.
The style's a little like Richard Linklater's (Waking Life, A Scanner Darkly).
I look forward to longer piece by guys who do this stuff, but I can't imagine the amount of work! Wow.

Fantastic. "My Uncle" reminded me strongly of the best qualities of Ralph Bakshi's work. The Radiohead sample is absolutely stunning - I really want to see the completed video.
