I would not have guessed that the one thing that improves a baby monkey riding on a pig is an audio homage to "Sympathy for the Devil," but the proof is before me and I cannot contravene it.

a monkey rides a speeding pig
rides off into the sunset
where he's going, and for how long
i'm afraid we just don't know yet
but he'll ride back someday
perhaps on a bike or a car
we'll applaud his driving skills and say
"that monkey, he went far!"

Parry Gripp got a literature degree at the same small college inside a university that I did, where every week all the literature students sit through a presentation by a published writer (often a graduate of the college) who reads some of their poetry or memoirs or literary fiction, talks about their path to a career as a writer, and answers questions about getting an agent or whatever. Pretty standard.
Then one day Parry Gripp was the invited writer-graduate, so he played his YouTube videos for a while, talked about the complications of copyright law and derivative works, and talked a little about how he ended up making a career from writing dumb jingles (I don't remember the process — I think it was just that he made some videos for fun and they ended up being surprisingly popular, so he took that formula and ran with it). It was a bit abrasive, with high-pitched inane videos at full volume in a quiet lecture hall, but it was nice to see working with internet mediums discussed as an alternate career possibility for people who like to write and be creative. I like that! That's more or less what I do!
But my dear literature student friends, who don't spend much time on YouTube and are working on becoming poets and novelists? Yeeeah. Without the context of the finer points of internet culture, they thought it was the most annoying and baffling presentation in recent memory. Oh well.
