There was a post about Ladislas Starevich years ago on Metafilter. I think he's popped up every so often on the blue. My MA dissertation will involve scouring the film archives for animation from the 1910s, so anyone adding to the mix is very welcome.

The blog is choc-a-bloc with fun designs covering a boggling array of styles and periods - thanks muchly!
