Came for Bowling For Soup. Was not disappointed.

Mecca Normal's 1922 is vastly superior to the thing on the list.

Also, I love Thalia Zedek's cover of 1926 (included in the playlist) but the nigh ungoogleable V; original is worth seeking out (RIP Susan Anway)

vastly superior to the thing on the list ...

also John Cale's Paris 1919
David Bowie's 1984
Josh Rouse's 1972
Wings' Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five

Don't know if there's another option, but Queen's '39 isn't about 1939.

Fine choices but may I add 1962 by Grass Show? If you ever wanted to hear Swedish power pop that sounds a little bit like Elvis Costello had too much sugar that day, this may be your bag. https://youtu.be/PclYqp7hKOY

I wonder how hard this was to put together.

I also wonder how difficult it would be to create a completely different, yet theme-compliant list that runs from Annelie to Charli XCX feat. Troye Sivan.

I see they've gone with only numeric titles starting with 19--, but it's a shame the terrible and yet fascinating In The Year 2525 can't be on there.

I thought this would be 8-bit video game music from the far-off year Nineteen Eksty Six.

Is there a version of this list that exists on a platform that doesn’t fund the podcast of an anti-science, anti-vaccine former actor?

I didn't know I wanted that, but I did. Thanks!

[why does this band only have one album? why?]

I was expecting "1996" by The Wombats. The song by Wild Child is fine, but the lyrics aren't as apropos.
