I wanted to like his channel. I really did. That linked video was actually pretty good, I thought, and on its own I'd recommend it to any number of people. Hell, I ain't got it all together myself. I could stand to cut myself some slack and other folks, too. I can overlook the fact he's dry-aging his lungs on the daily; I guess we all have our vices. I even had the thought "this should be what folks should be watching instead of Jordan Peterson."

I spoke/thought too soon. I started watching another video of his, "Thoughts on Becoming a Proper Kind of Man", and it didn't hit at all. He said things that I agreed with on their faces but not completely. He said other things that made me think if that's a proper man, I don't want any part of it. Then he said you know, if you're looking for someone who will say this stuff better than I ever could I'd recommend...

(don't say it don't say it)

...Jordan Peterson.

tl;dr Good video in isolation. Zoom out and man, the horizon is pretty narrow on that ranch.

Agreed, I’m glad you said it. I watched a lot of his videos and don’t agree with them all. But I think he comes from an honest place and he seems to help some people. I posted this one because I just turned 50 myself and it really resonated, and it’s focused and poetic and I find it to be true enough. His horse videos are also good.
