I love doing it. Can't stand when others do it.

My son does this all the time (fingers and toes) and it DRIVES ME BONKERS.

I've never done it on purpose - I don't even know what you *do* to get your knuckles to crack.

I can crack just about every joint in my body - toes, ankles, knees, elbows, shoulders, wrists, fingers, back, neck, occasionally my hips if I'm especially stiff. It sounds like a popcorn maker when I wake up.

Adding this to my Nope list.

Pretty much every joint I have can and does crack, on purpose or not. But my son, like Lucinda's, does it ALL THE TIME with his fingers, and it has become a sort of tic for him. Makes my husband absolutely nuts but doesn't bother me at all.

I won't be showing him (the husband) this video.

Hyper extend a joint and it creates cavitation bubbles in the fluid around the bones. The sound is tiny sonic booms.

You joint popping people are monsters.

I do a fake nose crack by hiding my thumb into my mouth and flicking the nail off the teeth to produce a "pop" sound. It really freaks people out.

Hyper extend a joint

I can reliably crack my thumbs and wrists with just regular movements. Feet, too. They feel so much better after they've been cracked, it's a little disturbing sometimes.

After I broke a rib a few years ago, I could crack my sternum by stretching my arms backwards(surprising how good that felt!) but I can't do it any more.

Neck, elbows, fingers (forward/backward/pulling, the distal interphalangeal joints just by flexing), middle back, lower back (that one can generate a sound that will clear a room of the easily-horrified), knees, ankles, toes (large one laterally, the others forward). I am a monster and someday I will probably meet an ironic end by spine-cracking-related stroke or paralysis.

That's what the dude does in the video. Nothing to crack in the nose.

I've got super-creaky joints and always have, and I can do something with the farthest joints on my fingers so that I can "pop" them over and over against as much as I want, which I used as a way to freak people out when I was a kid.

Broken rib not necessary, I assure you.

There may be nothing to crack in the nose, but I can make a cracking sound (and feeling) by moving... something against something else in my nose. If I put my fingers on the side of my nose, push lightly, and move them up and down, something "pops" each time. It certainly would be called "cracking" by anyone who sees/hears it, though it's definitely not the same as my other cracking. Though I can also crack my sternum and I don't know what's going on there either (there's no joint! what is cracking!)

I'm also an everything-cracks person. I don't have to hyper-extend anything (though it helps) - if I stand up my knees crack. If I straighten my fingers they crack. If I bend my toe it cracks over and over and over again - same with my wrists, which by moving in a circle I can crack 3-4 times per second (so no time for bubbles to re-form or anything like that).

What non-crackers don't always understand is how much it hurts not to crack. It's not just for fun - if I don't do it, it can get extremely painful (and sometimes I don't have a choice anyway, it just cracks when I move in a certain way).

Since high school, I have been able to crack my sternum. I googled it once to see if it was something I should worry about, and I found youtube videos of it. I was able to see what my wife has been tolerating all these many years.

Watching the first few seconds of this actually made me gag, which is weird, because it doesn't really bother me when people do it around me.

That was exactly my reaction, too. It's a habit I developed as a child and at this point I do it mostly unconsciously. I'd kind of like to quit, actually -- I don't derive any special pleasure from it, and I find it gross when other people do it, so I am sure they think I am equally gross.

I do a fake nose crack

My father did this when I was small! That, along with the classic "look how I take off the end of my thumb" bit, was sure to freak out my friends every time.

My SI joints pop constantly, and I wish they would stop :(

I used to crack my knuckles and my neck a lot, like habitually, over and over, but I quit several years ago after it made my thumbs hurt to crack them. For the most part they don't crack any more, and I can roll my neck without any cracking or stiffness.
But it was like quitting nail-biting (or any other habit, I suppose) in that it became thought-consuming to not do it, or I'd catch myself starting to again... It took months to finally quit, but I'm glad I did.

Weird selection of suggested videos on that page. "women try going commando", "sex every day for 30 days","tried escaping a bounty hunter!"?
