2020 has been a counterintuitively strong year for music releases. Madrid rock quartet Hinds released their third album today, The Prettiest Curse, adding pop sensibilities to their lo-fi aesthetic, and singing in both English and, for the first time, in Spanish.

I love them so much. Saw them live and it was 100% what you would expect. Exact same vibe as their videos.

They played the Boaty Weekender and I went in to that (my best weekend ever TBH) knowing of them and came out thinking they were the most fun band on the boat - I think everyone left a huge fan of theirs because they are so charming and engaging on stage and were a constant presence until all hours of the night around the ship (you basically saw the bands who were there to perform everywhere). They are also super sweet and have seemingly boundless energy. I went home and bought both their existing albums and then preordered this one, though they are MUCH better live than recorded.
We had tickets to see them sometime around now (time is losing meaning) but unfortunately it was postponed for obvious reasons and then their tour was cancelled.
