A hundred years of British cinema

So what's the criteria for British cinema? A couple I'd never really thought of as such. Shooting location? British characters? Star is British? Director is British?

There's actually a legal defintion (for like funding and the like) It used to be basically if the majority of the films budget is spent in the UK on a majority British cast and crew it's British. Then they changed it to some points system based on a Cultural Test... don't know if that'll stick around once the UK film council goes.
Nice compilation... pity there's not list of the films, though I recognised quite a few

It's worth noting that this compilation was made in 1994, before people starting wondering where "In Bruges" is...
